Hello, Billerica! Our big celebration of America's 250th may be behind us, but there's still the time capsule! This time capsule will contain items showcasing what life was like in Billerica in 2026. It will be buried this fall and will be dug up 50 years from now for Billerica's 300th Celebration. There is still one more week to let us know if there is anything you'd like to submit! Yesterday the community came out and showed up for our once in a lifetime event. It has been a great honor to serve the town and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America with all of you.

To all of my Committee members:

Together we pulled of an event that the town has never seen before. An event that brought together a community that has in recent times been struggling with disagreements.

Last night we saw everyone smile, laugh, joke, and have fun and it was all because of you. You all poured your hearts, minds and Love into pulling off our celebration. Many hours of discussions, planning, fundraising, laughing, and arguing. Most importantly we all shared our love and enthusiasm for pulling this off and delivering to the town that we hold so dear.

John LaFauci you are a great man. Your dedication and drive is incredible and I’m truly grateful that your one of my closest friends

Diana Saunders we had our ups and downs. But your heart kept me going

Tommy Tringale your love of history is exceptional and that baseball game was amazing

Gil Moreira your advice on how to navigate the intricacies of the town is unmatched. You have been a great mentor

Michele DeParasis you have been so helpful in keeping me on target

Taryn Gillis your experience in event planning and your ideas were inspiring

Robert Fullam you were very late in getting on the committee but I’m glad you joined. You really shined bright last night in handling the shuttles

Jo Leary you are an amazing person. Your connection and involvement in town is incredible and admirable

And Lastly Isaac Wright-Lichter my vice chair. Your help in getting this event off the ground will never go unnoticed. You have an incredible heart and wore yourself to exhaustion. It has been one of my greatest experiences working with you.

Please let’s embrace this moment as a town that has pride unlike any other. A Town that is always ready and willing to help others. A Town that I have always held so close to my heart.

The Billerica 250th Committee was formed 18 months ago, and our 11-member group has worked tirelessly to bring this celebration to life—culminating in last night’s incredible 4th of July fireworks display! We are so overwhelmed by the massive turnout and the enthusiasm of this community. Thank you all for coming out to celebrate with us. It may take us another 18 months to properly thank everyone who lent a hand, but please know how much we appreciate your support!
