Now that voting is underway in town, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for your support and encouragement these past few months. Thanks for reaching out for a yard sign to show your support, messaging and calling me to show your support, and a thanks in advance to those who will be standing out with my family and I on Saturday at the different polling sites holding my election signs. I have provided almost 27+ years of municipal service to the town and started volunteering in the schools and community when we moved to this great town in 1980.
If you have friends and family who are still unsure of who to vote for, I would appreciate you sharing your own experiences with me with them, as well as direct them to my campaign page here where I have videos and media files that will explain my 20 years firsthand experience working in the Town Clerk's office, my plan to modernize the office (just like I ran on 3 ago), as well as explain more about day to day happenings in the Clerk's office. There is so much more to be done once the modernizing part of the office is done, and I know as a life-long resident I would want the person assuming the role of Town Clerk to be experienced and ready to take on the job on day 1 , without the need for training or learning as they go -- this is why I pulled papers and am running for the position, as I have the experience needed to get the job done starting on day 1. I have what it takes to not only modernize the office, but also keep it running efficiently-- I learned from Shirley (the current Town Clerk, who is now retiring), attended classes outside of work for the Town Clerk's position in order to obtain certification, and have experience with elections and polling sites, in addition to working in the office for 20 years providing day to day customer service to the residents.
While I am no longer accepting sign placement in yards, if you want to show your support by standing with me on election day, I would love for you to reach out to me to choose an hour time slot to hold a sign at one of the 6 school precincts.
And, if you want to share a personal endorsement of my candidacy, please feel free to leave them below this comment.
Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support. I appreciate each and every one of you.
Thanks,
Donna
