The US and MA State Military Records Divisions are reverting back to a small crew to process records requests due to COVID 19. This is a necessary precaution, but will create a even bigger back log of records requests from previous events. Please exercise patience with this system in light of the new risks we are facing. Our office is here for any questions or concerns. Stay Safe.

Chapter 115 Veterans' Benefits go a long way for many of our Veterans in need. Recently the State of MA DVS increased the minimum asset limit requirements to better reflect the current cost of living to $8,400 for a single applicant and $16,800 for a Married Couple. This opens the benefits up to a much wider population in need. If you are a Veteran, Veteran's Spouse or widowed please reach out if you think you may qualify for assistance.

The Billerica Department of Veterans’ Services is proud to announce that this year we will be hosting the Memorial Day Parade with Ceremony and Flag Placement at Fox Hill Cemetery.

Saturday May 29th at 9 AM boxes of grave flags will be placed throughout Fox Hill Cemetery for all to participate in placing the flags upon the graves of our town heroes.

Monday May 31st at 10 AM the Memorial Day Parade will begin traveling down Boston Road to the Town Common where the ceremony will take place at the Billerica Library front steps.
If you are planning to participate in the parade, please meet us at the Marshal School at 9 AM.

Dear Community Stakeholders,
VA Bedford Healthcare System has administered almost 18,000 vaccinations to employees and Veterans! You can find the most current information about our COVID Vaccination Clinics on our public webpage at https://www.bedford.va.gov/services/covid-19-vaccines.asp.

We will open COVID vaccinations to all Veterans enrolled in VA healthcare, regardless of age, effective tomorrow, Feb. 25. Veterans may call our Vaccination Call Center at 781-687-4000 to make an appointment. This line is open weekdays only from 8-4:30, but the vaccination clinic is open daily, including weekends. Note that as a federal facility, we do not follow state guidelines.

We administered 360 first-dose vaccinations in Lynn this past weekend in a joint venture with the City of Lynn and Lynn-Swampscott Department of Veterans Services. We’ll go back to Gloucester this weekend to administer their second doses, and we’re partnering with the City of Haverhill to conducted a vaccination clinic there March 21. Look for details in an upcoming press release and social media posts. If you’re interested in working with us on a community partnership, please contact Jacqueline Holliday at 781-687-3732.

If you have a Veteran who is not enrolled in VA healthcare, but interested in getting the vaccine, please visit VA’s Eligibility page to determine their eligibility for VA healthcare and start the enrollment process, if applicable.
