Our Story

Our Library--Big Stone City is one of three Branch library’s of the Grant County Library System. We use the Grant County Library card to check out books. All books here at the BSC Branch library are rotated from the GCPL in Milbank. Our Hours are Wednesdays 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Saturdays 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Patrons-- Residents of Grant county, SD, some Roberts county SD residents, and Pioneerland library card holders may use our branch library. If you do not have a card from GCPL or Pioneerland, you are welcome to come in and use the computers, and or newspapers & magazines without needing a library card. Wifi is available here if you want to bring in your own device to use while in town.

Programs--We have seasonal Storytimes for the toddlers/preschool children, Books & Brownies-school age children, An annual Easter Party--all children, Summer Reading Program-school age children, Adult Reading Program-adults only, puzzle swap-adults only and various other programs throughout the year for all ages.

Check out items--Puzzles and Games for kids, Adult Magazines, DVD Movies, Large print Fiction books, Adult Fiction books, Adult Non-fiction books, Adult Paperback Fiction books, Adult CD books, Children’s Picture books, Children’s Easy Reader Chapter books, Easy Reader Non-Fiction books, Juvenile Fiction books, Juvenile Non-Fiction books, Young Adult Fiction books, Young Adult Non-Fiction books, and a limited amt. of Reference books.
