The Basket Tree

The Basket Tree was originally instructor Joyce Cain's husband Bob's home place, which they have converted into a basket and chair weaving retreat that features classes plus lodging & all the amenities of home. Classes at The Basket Tree are small (usually 1-6 people) for more individual instruction and assistance. The Basket Tree is situated in a small mountain valley, and has a quiet country atmosphere complete with a nearby creek and a wrap around porch with a swing and wrought iron table and chairs. The house features three bedrooms with one full size and three twin beds. All bed and bath linens are supplied in the fully stocked laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining. Herbs and spices, condiments, coffee & tea, utensils, dishes and pots & pans are provided All you have to bring is your own food. An outdoor gas grill is also avalible. Of course, if you prefer to let someone else do the cooking, meal catering is done by The Wooden Spoon Catering Service upon request. So whether you're looking for a couple's or friends weekend retreat, a daytime group class, or just somewhere cozy to stay while you're in the Glenville/Tanner area, consider hanging around at The Basket Tree!
