🤘 Marcy Grandfriends Day🤘

Grandparents and Grand-friends are invited to join us for a special time of making memories with our little steers on Friday, September 11! ❤️

We are so thankful for ALL the special adults who help our students grow, learn, and feel loved!

A few important reminders:

🎟️ Guests must be listed in the student’s contact information and bring a photo ID.

🍎 First-grade students may eat breakfast in their classrooms, but special guests will need to wait in the designated area until our Grandfriends celebration begins.

⏰ We will begin signing guests in early! Arriving early will help us get everyone checked in and ready for the fun.

We can’t wait to welcome our Grandfriends and make some special memories together! 🤘🖤💛

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to create a safer dismissal process for our students.

Today’s indoor dismissal was necessary because of the pouring rain at 3:15 p.m. We recognize that this change came with very little notice and that the extended dismissal process was inconvenient for many families, especially as you waited longer than usual.

The additional time allowed us to keep every student safely in their classroom until a parent or authorized guardian was identified. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we worked to prioritize the safety and well-being of all our students. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

🚨 Important Dismissal Reminder

Beginning Monday, August 31, every parent or guardian picking up a student—through the car line or inside the building during indoor dismissal—must present the official placard displaying their child’s name.

If your placard has been lost, please contact your child’s teacher through ClassDojo as soon as possible. Replacement placards must be requested and sent home by dismissal on Friday.

Beginning Monday, students will not be released for pickup without the required placard.

☀️Marcy Families,

Due to the weather, we will be having indoor dismissal today! ☀️

If you are able, we ask that you please come inside to pick up your student from their classroom. We understand that you may have other children in your vehicle, which may prevent you from coming inside. However, if you are able to come in, we would greatly appreciate it! We are trying to limit the amount of time our staff members are standing outside in the weather while putting students into vehicles.

If you do need to use the car rider line, that is totally fine! Just please be patient as we will be rotating staff members to help decrease the amount of time they are outside in the weather.

If you are using the car rider line, please remain in your vehicle. Do not park and get out of your vehicle in the drive lane.

If you plan to walk inside to pick up your student, please park in the parking lot or along the side of the building and then walk inside. For everyone’s safety, please do not park and exit your vehicle in the car rider lane.

☀️Marcy Families — Indoor Dismissal Today! ☀️

Due to the weather, we will be having indoor dismissal today.

If you are able, we kindly ask that you come inside to pick up your student from their classroom. We completely understand that some families may have other children in the vehicle or other circumstances that prevent them from coming inside, and that is absolutely okay!

🚗 Car rider dismissal will still take place as usual. If you need to use the car rider line, we just ask for a little extra patience. We will be rotating staff members outside to help limit the amount of time they are exposed to the weather while safely getting students into vehicles.

If you are able to come inside, we would greatly appreciate your help in keeping our staff and students out of the weather as much as possible. 🖤💛

🚌⭐ Bus Dismissal Expectations ⭐🚌

Families, please take a few minutes to review our bus dismissal expectations with your child.

While students are waiting for their bus, we need everyone to:

🪑 Remain seated in their assigned area
🤫 Keep conversations at a Voice Level 2 or below
👂 Listen carefully for bus numbers, directions, and announcements
👀 Stay alert and ready when their bus is called

These simple expectations help us keep dismissal safe, calm, and efficient for all of our Marcy Steers.
