with Brynn Darby-Apple

Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 6:30PM

Milk and cheese, please!
Have you ever thought of having your own milk cow or wondered what it takes to care for one?

Brynn Darby-Apple is our own local agricultural science educator at Big Sandy High School, with over 20 years of experience with dairy cattle. She began showing dairy heifers at her county fair at the age of nine and now holds degrees in Agricultural Education and a Master’s of Science in Agricultural Communications from Oklahoma State University.

Come hear Brynn share a blend of real-world experience, education, and honest discussion of both the rewards and responsibilities of owning a milk cow.

We are looking for volunteers to help place wreaths on on veterans' graves on National Wreaths Across America Day, December 13, 2025 at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy.

Anyone who wants to offer a small gesture of gratitude for the freedoms Americans enjoy can volunteer at a wreath laying ceremony to assist in saying veteran names aloud and thanking them for their service.

When you volunteer on National Wreaths Across America Day, you’ll play a valuable role by placing live, balsam veterans' wreaths on the headstones of our fallen heroes. For centuries, fresh evergreens have been used as a symbol of honor and have served as a living tribute renewed annually. Wreaths Across America believes the tradition represents a living memorial that honors veterans, active-duty military, and their families. When each wreath is placed the service-member's name is said out loud, ensuring their memory lives on.

If you would like to volunteer to help place wreaths on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, please register here:
