The village has been informed that the BNSF will re-open the Rhodes Rd. railroad crossing this Friday by noon. PLEASE, DO NOT send your children to cross the tracks on foot, for their safety. Have them take the bus until the crossing is open once again. Thank You

After many discussions with BNSF, the Village of Big Rock is proud to announce that BNSF has enacted a moratorium on trains stopping in Big Rock during the peak traffic times of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the week.
They have also agreed, when possible, to stop before the crossing so as not to block the intersection until absolutely necessary.
