A quick reminder from the Big Rock Assessor’s office: At the March and April meetings, Tina Goeckel shared that all properties are required to have an updated front exterior picture of the home(s) located on each parcel. This is a mandate from Kane County and must be updated every 4 years.

Nathan Schlachter, a young college man from Big Rock, will be taking these pictures. Nathan will not be entering fenced yards nor going on to properties any further than the edge of the road. He will begin this project no later than Monday, May 11th and will finish before the end of summer.

Nathan will be clearly visible with a red reflective vest and badge. Below is a picture of him in said vest.

Just a reminder that all township residents are invited to the Annual Town Meeting for Big Rock Township, which will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The agenda includes the township’s Annual Financial Report, Supervisor’s “State of the Township” report, and a summary of the Big Rock Road District activities during the past year.

The meeting will be followed by a reception to meet your newly elected township officials who will take office on May 15, and to recognize those stepping down from the board. I hope you will join us at the 2025 Big Rock Annual Town Meeting!

🌟 Dauberman Road Extension Grand Opening 🌟

We are happy to announce that the Dauberman Road Extension Project from US 30 to Granart Road will open to traffic on November 1, 2024. Motorist should continue to watch for workers completing work off road and yield to flaggers as directed.

The new Dauberman Rd. Bridge over Rt. 30 and the BNSF railroad tracks will be open later this month. They are finishing the protective fencing for the bicycle/pedestrian lane on the bridge.

The extension of Dauberman Road in Big Rock is nearly completed and ready to open to the public. The occasion was highlighted by a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 1, attended by Kane County officials, staff, and other local leaders.
