Today, I had the incredible honor of being sworn in as Sheriff of Mecosta County by the Honorable Amy Clapp, Judge of the 49th Circuit Court. This milestone is deeply humbling, and I am so grateful for the trust and support of this amazing community.

To the deputies and support personnel of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, thank you for your dedication and professionalism. Together, we’ve built a vibrant, collaborative culture that serves our community with excellence. To the families who support our team, and especially to my own family—my wife Heather and our sons Cameron and Cooper—your sacrifices and unwavering support make everything we do possible.

To the residents of Mecosta County, thank you for your overwhelming support, resulting in 73% of the vote in the August Primary. I also want to express my heartfelt appreciation to my campaign staff and volunteers, who worked tirelessly through door-knocking, parades, and fundraisers to make this possible.

As Sheriff, I remain committed to building partnerships with neighboring departments to provide the best possible law enforcement services. With your continued support, we will make Mecosta County safer, stronger, and more united. Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving you.

My name is Hunter Clapp, Campaign Manager for Sheriff Brian Miller's reelection bid, I want to share my personal perspective on this extraordinary campaign. When I joined Sheriff Miller's campaign, I had known Brian and his family for over a decade. Throughout this time, Brian has exemplified leadership, faith, and unwavering dedication as a devoted husband and father.

In my experience working on nine campaigns ranging from School Board candidates to State Legislators, I have never seen a candidate with such profound and unparalleled support from the public, staff, and colleagues statewide. Our research reveals that no sheriff in recent memory has received endorsements from all three unions of the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office. As the spouses of deputies at the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, we want to voice our strong support for Sheriff Brian Miller. Our unique perspective comes from seeing the inner workings of the department and witnessing the significant positive changes under his leadership. For over 20 years, we have observed multiple administrations, and we can confidently say that our husbands have never been safer or in better spirits than they are now.

Sheriff Miller prioritizes family, safety, and teamwork, which deeply resonate with us. Unlike previous administrations, he knows the names of our families and actively engages with us, offering condolences and attending services when needed. He has made family time a priority, addressing staffing issues that previously forced deputies into long hours and weekend work. His efforts have greatly alleviated the strain on our marriages and families.

Safety under Sheriff Miller's leadership is evident through updated equipment and improved conditions, countering the false claims of budget mismanagement. He has replaced outdated gear, ensuring deputies are well-equipped and secure. Additionally, the growth in mental health transports has increased workload, but Sheriff Miller’s focus remains on the well-being and effectiveness of his team rather than budget constraints alone.

The sense of camaraderie and team spirit fostered by Sheriff Miller is unmatched. He engages with deputies and their families, creating a supportive environment that boosts morale. We urge voters to consider these factors and not be swayed by misleading information. Our experience confirms that Brian Miller is the best choice for Sheriff. If you vote Brian Miller for Sheriff, you are making with absolute NO DOUBT the best choice.

I have known Brian for about 30 years. I started my career with him. Side by side, and wearing the same uniform. I have continued to work with Brian through all those years, although in a different uniform. We have still assisted each other, and worked to solve and/or prevent crime. I know what “we” as Mecosta County residents are getting with Sheriff Miller.

Without question, I categorize our current Sheriff Miller as one of the most honest and integrity driven human beings I have ever met.

Leadership, stability, patience, and an understanding mentality marks some of the characteristics that describe Sheriff Miller.
He has continued to move Mecosta County Sheriff Department in a positive direction.

He leads, he understands, and he truly cares about the community as a whole. He is involved in the community. He is involved with community youth. Brian doesn’t fake it, he truly does it. His staff respects and endorses him.

Neighboring counties and police agencies respect and endorse him. Ask his staff, ask me.
I have been in Law Enforcement for over 30 years. I have seen the good and the bad in leadership roles. Sheriff Brian Miller is the good.
