Public Safety Facility Open House – September 30!

The community is invited to stop by City Hall on Wednesday, September 30, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. to see the final design of Big Lake’s new Public Safety Facility, learn more about the project, and meet members of the project team.

The project continues to move forward, with major milestones underway in design, permitting, bidding, and preparations for construction this fall.

Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The City of Big Lake joins communities across our nation in remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day and honoring the first responders, service members, and countless individuals whose courage and selflessness were demonstrated in the days, months, and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to remember those who were lost, those whose lives were forever changed, and the extraordinary acts of service and compassion shown in the face of tragedy.

We will never forget.

From concept, to construction, to congratulations! 🎉

Congratulations to M&M Precision Machining on officially moving into their new facility in the Big Lake Industrial Park!

From the initial concept and planning stages to construction and completion, it's been rewarding to watch this project come together. A special thank you to RJ Ryan Construction, Inc. for delivering an outstanding approximately 60,000-square-foot building that looks incredible.

Thank you to all the partners, contractors, and team members who helped make this project a success! We look forward to seeing M&M Precision Machining continue to grow in Big Lake!

The Big Lake Police Department has been busy this summer helping educate riders about Minnesota’s e-bike and e-scooter laws. We’ve had plenty of interactions with riders, and our focus has been education and safety.

As these bikes and scooters become more popular in our community, we want to make sure everyone (riders, pedestrians, and drivers) understands the rules and, more importantly, stays safe.

We’ve put together the attached informational flyer highlighting some of the important rules regarding e-bikes and e-scooters in Minnesota. Take a few minutes to look it over and share it with the riders in your family.

Our goal is simple: Educate. Encourage safe riding. Keep Big Lake moving safely.
