After the gathering at the cemetery for Flag Day to honorably dispose of our US Flags that were no longer serviceable.
We assembled a work party to assist Brad & Angie. Due to physical limitations preventing them, we built up a barrier around the work shed to prevent any intrusions. Veterans helping Veterans 🇺🇸

Yesterday, your Big Lake American Legion Post #147 and its cities Veterans held its annual ceremony for Flag Day (June 14) at the Big Lake Cemetery. This is a traditional, honorable day to retire worn or damaged American flags, often through ceremonies held Nationwide by American Legion posts and Scout troops. The U.S. Flag Code dictates that when a flag is no longer a fitting emblem, it should be destroyed in a dignified manner, preferably by burning. 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the birthday of the United States Army and honor the soldiers who have defended our nation since 1775.

From the Revolutionary War to today's missions around the globe, generations of Army soldiers have answered the call with an unwavering commitment to duty.
