This is the Big Bear Fire Department’s Official page. We are a highly responsive team of firefighters, paramedics, and fuels management professionals dedicated to support our public safety mission. We provide fire protection and life safety services to our residents, visitors, and commercial businesses 24hrs a day, every day. The Big Bear Fire Department is proud of its status as a premier EMS provider. We currently provide state-of-the-art Advanced Life Support (ALS) and paramedic ambulance services to the residents and visitors of the Big Bear Valley and surrounding areas. This includes a 256 square mile response area within the San Bernardino National Forest. Three ALS ambulances and three ALS equipped engines are staffed around the clock, 365 days a year. An additional fourth ALS ambulance is staffed during peak periods, with the ability to staff additional ALS ambulances as needed. All employees of the Big Bear Fire Department are trained as Fire Fighter/Paramedic or Fire Fighter/Emergency Medical Technician. The fire was mapped at 55 acres today at 11:30 a.m.

Green Fire - Morning Update 6/28/26
The fire is holding at 33.5 acres as crews are working diligently to solidify a handline around it. Aircraft worked throughout the night and mitigated threats to structures. Highway 38 is open with an es**rt. Crews are remaining in Unified Command.
