Fourth of July - Call for Volunteers

There's nothing quite like the Fourth of July in Bexley. We love this annual celebration, but it takes a lot of people to bring the events to life. There are many ways to help out, so if you're interested in volunteering, check out bexley.org/fourth.

Electric Aggregation Update: Program Pause
Aggregation Program to Pause Mid-June - Participants Will Return to AEP Service
Bexley’s current wind-powered electric aggregation program with Dynegy is set to expire with the June meter read. Due to unpredictable energy markets and high prices the program will pause until more favorable rates can be secured. Enrolled households will return to standard electric service through American Electric Power after the June 2026 meter read. Households currently enrolled in the program can expect a letter soon with more details. The City will continue monitoring the market closely, with the goal of restarting the program as soon as pricing becomes favorable for residents. To learn more, visit bexley.org/aggregation or call Elizabeth Ellman at (614) 559-4250.

Mosquito Spray June 9 - Areas South of Fair
Spray will Begin Tuesday, June 9 at 9:00 pm for Areas South of Fair Avenue

Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) confirmed that mosquito pools in Bexley in the areas south of Fair Avenue (FCPH splits Bexley into two districts - north of Fair and south of Fair) have tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). FCPH will be spraying starting at 9:00 pm on Tuesday June 9, weather permitting. Spraying is generally complete by midnight.

You can opt out of a mosquito spraying online. If you have already filled out a 'Do Not Spray' request form this year, you do not need to submit the form again.

This spraying will not eliminate all active mosquito species in Bexley. Residents should continue to be vigilant about removing sources of standing water to discourage mosquito population growth. The chemicals being used in this spraying are Permethrin and Piperonyl Butoxide.

Learn more at mosquito.myfcph.org/prevention-tips-tools/. Opt out of spraying or sign up to receive emails about future spraying at at mosquito.myfcph.org/spray-notification-do-not-spray/.

The Bexley Police Department in conjunction with the Columbus Division of Police have successfully disbursed a large number of teens loitering in the community following the closure of the St. Catharine’s FunFest. A few businesses reported criminal mischief during the period. The Columbus Division of Police assumed the lead following a fight which occurred at the FunFest within their jurisdiction. There were reports of gun shots, however, there is no evidence of a weapon upon further investigation. We appreciate the understanding of our community and businesses during an unfortunate and unforeseen incident. Additional Bexley Police officers are out on patrol and will remain vigilant throughout the evening.

Please note the area around St. Catharine's should be avoided until further notice.
