🚨 WATER QUALITY ALERT 🚨
Recent beach closures on the North Shore have highlighted the importance of protecting water quality.

Following a wastewater discharge into the Merrimack River, several beaches, including those in Ipswich, Plum Island, Salisbury, and surrounding communities, have been temporarily closed while state and local officials monitor conditions and continue response efforts.

While this incident was not caused by stormwater runoff, it reminds us that protecting clean water takes all of us. From maintaining critical infrastructure to reducing everyday sources of pollution, every action helps keep our rivers, streams, wetlands, and beaches healthy.
