Hey all, it is Banned Book Week. We, of course, are celebrating. Please have a look at our display and read as many of these challenged books as your heart desires - and see what all the fuss (or not so much fuss - where is the fuss?) is about.

We have brought out our fall decorations. And please note from the pictures below that we have a cabinet for Library of Things. Yes, you may borrow a Chromebook or a Blu-ray player or a literacy backpack - the list goes on and continues to grow.

Also note, we have some cute scarecrows waiting to greet you at the front door. You are always welcome at the Darcy Library of Beulah.

Your Library team was ready for all you Beulah Fall Festers! Haunted Library was a hit! We had games - ping pong toss and ring toss -- we had a sensory table with "intestines", "eyeballs" and "brains" -- we had a craft where we made a Tootsie Roll spider -- and the haunted library itself - where we had a maze, spider tunnels, a boneyard/graveyard and a skeleton party. We hope you really enjoyed our festive activity. And if you missed it this year, stop by next year at Beulah Fall Festival - the first Saturday of October!

PS Ice Books teamed with us at Library Park and had a Pokémon Go search where if you found a Pokémon trinket, you could get a free book or prize at their store.

A whole lot goes into transforming the library into the Haunted Library. We, again, had a great group of volunteers that helped us get everything ready for you! Thank you for your time and talent as it helped us make this event so special. (Please note, not everyone is pictured here.)

I would also like to highlight our very own Needles and Hooks group that put up the spooky tree that fit right in with our décor. You can still see it on display in the library. And, yes, those are knitted little sweaters for the skeletons on the tree. 👻

New books hit the shelves just before we started decorating for Haunted Library!

On Friday, we had a patron drop off a bouquet from her garden to brighten our day. Thank you for sharing this with us and the rest of our patrons. It still looks great on Monday!

With the cool air this morning, seeing these mums at the library should put a smile on anyone's face. Thank you to one of our Friends who helped us be so festive.

Don't forget Haunted Library and Beulah Fall Fest is coming up in 2 weeks!
