Everyone is invited to attend tonight's ceremony at 5:30 in Bettendorf's Jetty Park. This event is sponsored by the Elephant Club and Family Resources in remembrance of those who have lost their lives to domestic violence.

The City's Planning & Zoning Commission meets today, Wednesday, June 17 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers, 1609 State Street.

The Planning & Zoning Commission is made up of seven members appointed by the Mayor that advises City Council on land use proposals such as subdivision plats and rezoning requests. The Planning & Zoning Commission also reviews site plans for any commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial land development and provides a forum for public discussion of proposed development regulations stipulated in Title 11 - Zoning Regulations of Bettendorf City Code. The City's Community Development Department manages and staffs all applications and cases for this group.

What happens to garbage once it leaves your curb? Come see behind the scenes at the Scott Area Landfill!

We're offering family-friendly landfill tours on Monday, June 15 at 9am (VERY LIMITED), 11am, or 1pm. The tour is free, but spots are limited, and registration is required.

What to expect: We'll gather briefly in the meeting room at the landfill before hopping in a van for a riding tour of the Scott Area Landfill with our Landfill Operations Manager. The group will deboard the van at our landfill viewing area to get a better look at where the garbage is being added below. Thanks for your interest and participation as we try out this new event!
