Last evening, Fire 15, Medic 15 and Fire 53 were dispatched to a medical emergency at a local industrial building. Upon arrival, crews found the patient on the rooftop experiencing a severe medical emergency. Recognizing the complexity of the situation, Medic 15 quickly requested additional resources from the St. Luke’s Emergency Physician Team.

The patient required a coordinated rooftop extrication using a stokes basket, with Tower 15’s bucket utilized to safely bring the patient down—all while crews continued to provide advanced, life-saving care.

This incident is a true example of how fortunate we are to have highly skilled clinicians and firefighters protecting Hanover Township. A special thank you to Dr. Bryan Wilson and the St. Luke’s Physician Team for their critical support during this call.

The Hanover Township Board of Supervisors recently purchased a new ambulance for the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company. The Fire Company has outfitted it as the Township’s first Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance, allowing us to now provide ALS services directly to our community.

Members of the Board recently had the opportunity to view the new ambulance, pictured here, and see this important investment in public safety firsthand.

It is an honor and privilege to announce that Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 of Northampton County EMS is transitioning from a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider to an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service, effective midnight, Sunday, February 1st.

We would like to recognize and sincerely thank Paramedics EJ Coleman and Mark DeMasi for their dedication and countless hours of work in helping make this transition possible. We also extend our appreciation to our staff and volunteers whose commitment and support were instrumental in achieving this milestone. Most importantly thank you to our Medical Director Dr. Rebecca Pequeno who has supported us as our Medical Director for the past 20 years as a BLS agency and now as an ALS agency.

HTVFC is committed to improving our community by providing a higher level of emergency medical care to our residents, those who work within our Township, and the commuters who travel through our municipality. We look forward to operating as a progressive EMS agency alongside our mutual aid partners throughout the county and surrounding jurisdictions as we move into the future. Hanover Township Paramedics are ready to serve you.

As staffing allows, a second EMS unit will be available to assist when the primary unit is committed to other calls, with the continued support of our mutual aid partners.

We would also like to thank the Township Manager and the Board of Supervisors for their continued support of this effort. HTVFC remains dedicated to providing the highest quality fire and emergency medical services to our residents and commuters.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY

Hanover Township – Northampton County announces a Snow Emergency effective Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Snow Emergency Information: Hanover Township has found it necessary to declare a “Snow Emergency” due to the potential for a significant snow event Saturday through Monday.

Parking on all Township streets is prohibited and vehicles may be ticketed. (§172-29 of the Codified Ordinance reads: Whenever a snow emergency has been declared it shall be unlawful for any vehicle to be abandoned or parked, on any public highway/street.)

Snow emergencies are declared in order to remove vehicles from the roadways so they are not damaged from plowing operations and to insure the safety of the plow operators.

Again, the Township has declared a Snow Emergency as a result of an impending storm with snow forecasted. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Tickets can be issued once the Snow Emergency (parking ban) goes into effect and in some instances prior to the snow actually starting to fall or snow plowing operations commencing.

Watch the Township Website, page and message boards for additional information concerning the Snow Emergency and Residential Waste and Recycling.

Keep in Mind: One of the most challenging winter decisions a municipality has is declaring a snow emergency. Various weather resources are monitored including AccuWeather, the Weather Channel, 69News, the National Weather Service, Weather Underground, and others. After reviewing those feeds a decision is made with our underlying objective being public health, safety and welfare.

The average weight of an automobile is 4,009 lbs., a large SUV or truck is 5,411 and a fully loaded Township Mack Truck with plow and salt is in excess of 66,000 lbs. If the plow slips on snow and/or ice your personal vehicle stands little or no chance of escaping significant damage.
