The National Institutes of Health is hosting a virtual workshop on broadening cloud computing usage in biomedical research on Sept. 13-14. The goal of the workshop is to gain insights on the barriers toward equitable access to cloud resources.

As part of efforts to harness the power of big data and cloud computing, the NIH STRIDES Initiative announces a third industry agreement with a cloud service provider, this time with Microsoft Azure. https://loom.ly/JYb1HBY

To date, researchers have used more than 83 million hours of computational resources to access and analyze more than 115 petabytes of high-value biomedical data in the cloud.
