This center consolidates the research and education efforts of three legacy programs—CHAMP, CRSR, and MIRROR—into a single, unified entity to strengthen Warfighter performance, recovery, and return-to-duty rates.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month! ☀️ Learn how to stay mission ready in the sun from our colleagues at Defense Health Agency.

☀️ Mission readiness starts with protecting the force.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center reminds us that prolonged sun exposure during training, field exercises, and physical fitness increases the risk of skin damage and skin cancer—one of the most common cancers in the U.S.

Stay mission ready in the sun:
✔️ SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen (reapply every 2 hours)
✔️ Protective gear: hats, long sleeves, UV-blocking sunglasses
✔️ Seek shade during peak hours (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)
✔️ Don’t overlook ears, lips, and scalp 💧
