The Recreation Center playground has new wood chips and is open for play!

The pavilion is currently being pressure washed, sanded, and prepared for new sealant, and then the building will be next. At some point this summer the skatepark will be temporarily closed for an annual inspection and to be resealed.

We will do our best to inform the public when these amenities are temporarily closed, but some closures could be unplanned. We will do our best to get these projects done in a timely manner but some of the work is contingent on the weather. We ask if there is yellow tape or orange fencing closing off a section of the Recreation Center that people be respectful of the work being done and stay off/out of the area until the tape or fencing is removed. Once a project is complete, we will do our best to notify the public.

Final installment for the 2025-2026 taxes is due today, May 15th. The town office is open until 4:00 pm. If you come by after then, you may drop your payment off through the slot in the Town Manager's door. You can also utilize the on-line payment system (Municipay) on the Town of Bethel website, www.townofbethelvt.com. If you plan on putting it in the mail, please take it to the counter and ask them to postmark it today. These three options will help decrease your chance of getting charged interest and penalty.

The Town of Bethel will not be opening the pool this year, due to continued deterioration of the pool itself. We have a working group started that will be reaching out to residents to gather input about the future of the recreation area. We expect there will be a survey in your tax bill and on our website in the near future and we urge you to complete and submit it.
