We are honored to have had the opportunity to spend time with Hackworth Fire Collection and to be a small part of the important work they are doing to preserve the history of the fire service across West Virginia.
Their recent visit to Bethany, along with surrounding Brooke County departments, was more than just a stop—it was a reminder of where we came from, the traditions we carry, and the responsibility we have to pass that legacy on to the next generation. The fire service is built on history, pride, and brotherhood, and organizations like Hackworth Fire Collection ensure those stories are never lost.
Featured in this segment is Chief Mitchell, speaking on the history, pride, and continued mission of the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department and the importance of preserving that legacy.
We strongly encourage any department with an interest in preserving their history to connect with Hackworth Fire Collection. What they are doing for the fire service is something truly special.
Thank you again for the visit—we look forward to continuing that relationship in the future.
