Bids will be opened on April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Please submit your sealed bids, including name, phone number, address,bid amount and item bid #, to the main office located at 8900 Lock 17 Rd, Bessemer, AL 35023. The surplus items are available for viewing Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional information is provided below. Bids received after April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. will be disqualified.

Distribution Utility Operator II (1)- The Distribution Utility Il position performs routine and semi-skilled work in support of the water distribution system and utility facilities for Warrior River Water Authority. This role assists Distribution Ill Maintenance personnel and other department staff with maintenance, repair, and operational activities. The Distribution Utility Il position also performs grounds maintenance and general labor tasks and serves as a developmental position leading toward a Distribution Ill Maintenance role.

Water Treatment Plant Operator (1)- Must have an Alabama Department Environmental Management Grade 4 Certification to be considered. This position is within out water treatment division and is responsible for all water treatment plant operations for producing the highest quality and safest drinking water to our customers.

Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee (1)-This is an entry level position that will prepare you for your water treatment plant operator exam. Must have an Alabama Department Environmental Management Grade 4 exam passed within1 year of hire. This position is within out water treatment division.

After 44+ years of dedicated service as our Water Plant Manager, Todd Hicks is officially turning the page to a well-earned retirement! 💧

To celebrate his incredible career and the commitment he’s shown to our community over the decades, the Main Office will be closing early at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 27.
