The Moody Mansion Follow husbands Michael and Jerett on an adventurous journey of restoring an 1887 Victorian house known as the Moody Mansion in Historic Bessemer, Alabama.

Built in 1887 by Wm Meade Montgomery, this historic home in Bessemer, AL was owned by Bessemer Weekly Editor Wm HH Judson and passed down through his heirs, including son-in-law and Bank President Lee Moody, between 1895-1964. Known as the Judson-Moody House, and commonly referred to as "The Moody Mansion", this home is rumored to be one of the most haunted 19th Century homes in the state. In fact

, since we have owned it, the house has been investigated by several entities and labeled "bustling with activity" and "one of the most active houses [they] have ever seen." Follow us on our journey via this page as we bring it from a crying old lady to something more. The state of our purchase included 58 broken windows, no heating and cooling, 19 fallen ceilings, a giant hole in the kitchen floor, no shower in the house, 672,311 nails in the plaster, 33 leaks in the roof, and fallen porch, and 67 open bibles (to ward off the spirits). The grandeur is beginning to return, but it will be a long process. We are loving every project and are trying to do everything that we can ourselves and "the right way." is officially a wrap! The 10th Annual Moody Mansion Christmas Gala was an incredible time to be had by all. With more than 200 guests attending this year, we couldn’t begin to thank you all enough for joining us in celebrating this holiday season.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to a few individuals that helped pull off this success: Craig Rackley, Trent Perkins, Mike Sims, Brian Kendrick and Michael Busbin. You gentlemen came through and we appreciate you all greatly.

To our amazing support team (Pye, Emma, JC, Mark, Madelyn, Madison, Chris, Ashlyn, and Sam), we absolutely could not have pulled it off without you!

Seth Holloway (The Cutoff News), thank you for ten straight years of taking our annual family photo, as well as this amazing group photo.

And our home would not have been as magical without the support of Michael Wesley Creates, Wes Sims, and his incredible floral and live greenery arrangements. Not only is he talented in design, he creates one great cocktail as well. Did you try “Meet Me Under the Mistletoe”? Just delicious.
