Neighbors Helping Neighbors is back!

We’re grateful to partner with WVTM 13 and Milo’s to help fight hunger in our local communities. Earlier this summer, members of their teams volunteered with the Community Food Bank, and now they’re inviting their customers to join them in supporting neighbors facing hunger.

From September 1–25, bring a nonperishable food item to any Milo’s restaurant and receive a coupon for a free regular fry.

Every item donated helps provide food for children, families, seniors, and neighbors across central Alabama who need it most.

What: 450 food boxes, frozen protein, and produce. First come, first served.

Where: Legion Field, 400 Graymont Ave W, Birmingham, AL 35204

When: Tuesday, September 15 at 9:00 AM – Neighbors are encouraged to arrive early and line up.

Happy Labor Day from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.

Today, we honor the dedication and hard work of people across our community, including the staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and supporters who help make our mission possible.

Our offices will be closed in observance of Labor Day. We will resume normal operations tomorrow, September 8.

Hunger is not a distant issue. It is happening right here in central Alabama, affecting children, working families, seniors, and neighbors in every part of our community. Last year, through the support of our community, the Community Food Bank distributed 19,699,013 meals through our network of over 300 distribution partners.

Happy Hunger Action Month, a month of raising awareness and taking action to support your neighbors facing hunger. In central Alabama, 1 in 6 of our neighbors and 1 in 4 children face hunger.

In August, 947 volunteers contributed 1,758 hours to furthering our mission to end hunger in central Alabama. We received 1,669,814 pounds of food and distributed 906,722 pounds, providing 755,601 meals to our neighbors facing hunger.

Every action matters in the fight against hunger. Achieving the mission of the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama is a collaborative effort, and we can’t do it without you! Visit our website at FeedingAL.org to see how you can get involved this Hunger Action Month.
