The Clarke County Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) held its Spring Business Tour today, joined by members of the Clarke County Industrial Development Authority (IDA).

The group visited several local businesses, including Mountain Gap Market, Bee’s Wing Farm, and Runyon’s Farm Market, gaining firsthand insight into their daily operations.

The tour also included a visit to the pad-ready sites in Waterloo, highlighting opportunities for future economic growth and development in the county.

The mammal enrichment tower project beneficiary this year is the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding small businesses and private nonprofit (PNP) organizations in Virginia of the Feb. 2 deadline to apply for low interest federal disaster loans to offset economic losses caused by the drought that occurred on March 15, 2025. https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance/economic-injury-disaster-loans

These low‑interest loans (up to $2M) can help with payroll, bills, accounts payable, etc. Apply at sba.gov/disaster before the deadline (60‑day grace period after).
