Clarke County Historical Association Founded in 1939, the Clarke County Historical Association is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of Clarke County.

CCHA is also the proprietor of the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill. Welcomes all members, volunteers, and patrons.

We all remember Summer days spent in our local park surrounded by community. This photograph was taken June 6, 1988 during the “Berryville Days” celebrations. Here we see a live band performing from inside the gazebo at Rose Hill Park.

🇺🇸 Continue the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with two special VA250 events taking place in Clarke County this June. These programs offer unique opportunities to explore the people and events that helped shape our nation's history.

📅 June 6 – *Lloyd Williams and The Marines: A Clermont VA250 Commemoration*
📍 Clermont Farm, 151 Clermont Lane, Berryville, VA 22611

Honor Major Lloyd W. Williams, a Clarke County native and Marine Corps hero of World War I whose famous words, "Retreat Hell, We Just Got Here!" became part of military history. This afternoon event will feature historical interpretation, community engagement, and a look at Clermont Farm’s rich military heritage.

📍 Burwell Morgan Mill, 15 Tannery Lane, Millwood, VA 22646

Learn about General Daniel Morgan’s legendary 600-mile march during the Revolutionary War through a dynamic reenactment and engaging presentation by members of the Sons of the American Revolution. Discover how Morgan and his riflemen helped shape America's fight for independence.
