If we’re not careful, “Never Forget” can become nothing more than a cliché. It helps to remember, ponder, and meditate on what it is exactly that we aren’t forgetting.

First, we must remember the thousands of responders and civilians we lost that day—the friends, family, and coworkers who never came back home.

Second, we remember that we live in a much bigger world than we sometimes realize; peace here does not equate to peace everywhere.

Third, we vow not to forget that evil forces, no matter how they are clothed, seek to do us harm regardless of our intentions.

It is our job not just to ponder, but to take action. Whether it’s getting involved in our local government, joining an emergency service, or simply voting, it is imperative that we all do our part to ensure that one of the greatest countries on earth remains that way through diligence, dedication, and devotion to God, and to country.

It is only then, we can truly say, “We will never forget."

Keeping Andrews Academy Safe

Tuesday’s assembly focused on keeping Andrews Academy a safe place for everyone. The Andrews University Campus Safety representative led the program, with the chiefs of the local fire and police departments and the Berrien Springs School Resource Officer joining the presentation. Andrews Academy alumnus Matthew Oosterwal, serves as the School Resource Officer. Important safety information was shared as we begin the new school year, along with a reminder of the shared responsibility we have to look out for one another.

We are grateful for those who work to keep our campus safe and pray for a safe and blessed school year. Sept. 1, 2026

Wow what a weekend! Our normal busiest weekend of the year was even busier this year! It started off with storms and ended with a dumpster fire. But that was no indication of how the weekend went. A great pancake breakfast, fun pickle festival, cheerful parade, a chance to help our friends at Buchanan Township. Fire/Rescue on a rescue call at the river. To cap it off, we got to see some phenomenal fireworks suitable for the 250th anniversary of this incredible nation that God has given us the grace to live in. It was a lot to take in, (and keep up with) but we did it. Thanks to all of those who came out to the breakfast, and a special shout out to Zicks Specialty Meats, Wales Wealth Management Group, and Hardings Supermarkets of Berrien Springs for their incredibly generous donations to our breakfast. What a great community!

At our annual 4th of July parade you might have noticed our ranks were a little thinner. We were needed by our neighbors at a mutual aid river call instead. Never a dull moment! Happy Birthday America! Stay safe out their friends!
