Thank you to all members of the UTT/ Strausstown Borough Merger Committee for the hard work and dedication of information gathering and dissemination as well as educating residents in advance of the referendum vote. Now that the vote has been confirmed, this committee is no longer active, but are always available to answer any questions or concerns residents of either municipality may have. Effective July 1, 2016 Strausstown Borough will officially become the Village of Strausstown and be governed by Upper Tulpehocken Township. As outlined in the Municipal Merger Ordinance, a Transition Committee has been appointed by the Board of Supervisors to continue to address issues related to the consolidation. This Committee includes Chairman Russell Yerger, Vice-Chairman George Brown, members Gary Rosenblatt, Ric Narducci, and Barry Bentz. A tentative meeting schedule includes June 6 at 6:00 pm in the Strausstown Sewer Plant Office; June 13, 20, and 27 at 6:00 pm at the Township Municipal Office. This meeting schedule is subject to change and updates will be posted here. Residents of both municipalities are welcome and encouraged to attend all Transition Committee meetings.
