Time for A CHANGE!
Time to VOTE REPUBLICAN TO MAKE CT AFFORDABLE!
On April 14, 2026, State Representative Donna Veach and her House Republican colleagues proposed the “PATHWAY TO AFFORDABILITY PLAN”
It was REJECTED by the Democratic Majority!
⬇️ SEE BELOW FOR THE PLAN ⬇️
* Legislative history shows the Democratic Party has held the majority for decades and super majority since 2011, with complete control of the Senate, House and Governor’s Office. This results in a ONE PARTY RULE. The DEMOCRATIC ONE PARTY RULE has resulted in over taxing and overspending; making Connecticut one of the most expensive states in the country.
*Legislative history shows the Democratic majority adopted a number of policies that add additional cost to our electric distribution companies, which they then pass on to taxpayers, voted for and passed the “Meals tax” on prepared food, (such as a rotisserie chicken, popular with busy families and seniors), and the “Highway Use tax” (which will be an additional pass-through cost to consumers), among many others that have contributed to the high cost of living in Connecticut.
* The idea of electing more Democrats will “fix”things and work to bring down costs is inherently false based on our legislative history. They could have already “fixed”things and brought down cost if they wanted to.
* The General Assembly’s current make-up by party: House- 151 members: (102 Democrat) and (49 Republican), Senate-36 members: (25 Democrat) and (11 Republican).
* If you’re unhappy about the high cost of living in Connecticut and struggle to pay your bills, then ELECT REPUBLICANS TO HELP RESTORE BALANCE IN THE LEGISLATURE SO THAT THEY CAN BEGIN TO IMPLEMENT THE TYPE OF TAX RELIEF OUR RESIDENTS SO DESPERATELY NEED.
