Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of summer, often a weekend filled with family get-togethers, pool parties, parades and backyard cookouts. But the true meaning of Memorial Day is a much more solemn occasion. It's a day of remembrance to honor the sacrifice made by the men and women who have died during their service in the United States military.

On April 28th, FF Wyman of Local 1088 attended the Muscular Dystrophy Associations Boot Camp for the IAFF 3rd District. The event is held annually and is a change to network and learn from fellow firefighter and MDA staffers about ways to have successful Fill the Boot fundraising events.
Local 1088 will hold their Fill the Boot Road Toll on Thursday June 4th from 8:00 am till 5:00 pm on the Glen Ave. side of Veterans Park.
