We had a blast hanging out with our partners at the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region in Ocean City this past Saturday. Members of the MSP Dive Team and Aviation Command joined troopers from the Berlin Barrack to represent the Maryland State Police, while officers from Ocean City Police Department, members of the Department of Natural Resources, and deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Department were on hand as well to show off their people and equipment to the public. Berlin Barrack troopers recently responded to a fatal crash in the area of westbound Route 50 near Rt. 610 in Worcester County. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on Rt. 610 failed to stop at the stop sign located at the intersection and was subsequently struck by a second vehicle traveling westbound on Rt. 50. The official press release is below. Please drive safely so we can minimize these kinds of crashes and save lives.

Congratulations to Corporal Eric Lenz, Trooper First Class Seth Shubert, and Emergency Dispatcher Cora Pusey for being recognized as the Department's Berlin Barrack Non-Commissioned, Trooper, and Emergency Dispatcher of the Year at the annual Awards Ceremony in Timonium last week.

We are so proud to have Eric, Seth, and Cora represent the Berlin Barrack, and a sincere thank you to all three of them for their outstanding work to serve Worcester County.

MSP Berlin Barrack troopers responded to Rt. 113 yesterday after passing motorists noticed a pickup truck parked on the shoulder of the road. While speaking with the driver, troopers became concerned about the man's well being due to his unusual behavior. During the subsequent investigation, troopers discovered 4 handguns, along with suspected he**in and co***ne, in his possession. The individual was arrested and the suspected drugs and fi****ms were seized.
