DPW is working on repairing a water main break on Greenfield between Oxford and Cambridge on Monday, September 14. There is no boil advisory, but water service disruptions (including water being turned off) could occur in the area for the duration of the repair.

If you experience discolored water, please run cold water from the lowest tap in your home until it’s clear.

DISCOLORED WATER ALERT: Public Safety is responding to a house fire on Oakshire near 11 Mile. Residents in the area of Oakshire between 11 Mile and Catalpa may experience brown water due to hydrant use.

On this day we remember all of the victims of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. We especially remember the first responders, who ran towards the danger, as most ran away. We will never forget.

Have you heard of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten? 😃📚

Launching on Monday, September 21 at the Berkley Library, this nationwide initiative encourages reading to newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers to foster a love of books and prepare them for school.

Sign up to receive a welcome bag including a free book, then bring your reading log to the library after every 100 books for a sticker and every 200 books for a small prize! Children who complete the challenge will receive a congratulatory yard sign to display at home.

By reading 1,000 books before kindergarten, you are taking advantage of the time when your child’s brain is developing fastest and laying the foundation for future success.

Any child not yet in kindergarten is eligible to participate. Sponsored by an anonymous donor.
