🧵🪡💛 Member Spotlight: Delectable Mountains Quilt Guild 💛🪡🧵

Have you noticed the beautiful Yard Square Quilts displayed throughout downtown Berkeley Springs this summer? If you've found yourself slowing down to admire one in a shop window (or wandering into a business just to get a closer look... don't worry, you're not alone! 😉), you've been enjoying one of my favorite Morgan County traditions. We were even honored to host one right here at the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce!

For more than 20 years, the Delectable Mountains Quilt Guild has transformed our town into a self-guided quilt tour, with this year's 54 one-of-a-kind quilts displayed throughout the community. This Saturday at 2:00 PM, they'll all head to the Historic Star Theatre for the annual Yard Square Quilt Auction, where every bid helps support another one of our fantastic Chamber members, Senior Life Services of Morgan County. 💛 Over the years, this incredible tradition has raised more than $100,000 for local charities. That's a whole lot of stitches... and a whole lot of generosity.

Before or after the auction, be sure to stop by the MAC Ice House, where the first two floors have been transformed into a stunning exhibit featuring the work of the Delectable Mountains Quilt Guild, curated by Carmen Winiarski. Every inch, every stitch, and every tiny detail reflects remarkable craftsmanship. And it isn't just quilts! If it can be quilted, there's a pretty good chance someone in this talented group has quilted it. 😄 While you're there, don't forget to find the beautiful 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival Quilt and grab your raffle tickets!

The Delectable Mountains Quilt Guild has been stitching together art, history, friendship, and community in Morgan County for more than four decades. Their work doesn't just keep the tradition of quilting alive, it helps support the organizations that make our community stronger.

🍎📚🎉 This community sure does love its teachers, and after reading all of your nominations, it's easy to see why! If you listen to Happy Fridays on 92.9 WXDC, you already know that I got up a little extra early last week so Danielle and I could read through the incredible list of teachers you nominated.

First of all... wow. ❤

Every nomination told the story of a teacher who goes above and beyond, stays late, spends their own money, encourages students, cheers them on, and makes a difference every single day. Reading them was inspiring... and it reminded us just how lucky Morgan County is to have so many incredible educators. It also made us very glad we didn't have to rank them!

So, naturally, Danielle and I used the most sophisticated selection process imaginable. 😄 I held up the stack of nominations, Danielle closed her eyes, pointed to one completely at random... and just like that, we had our winner!

Congratulations to Brittany Cockrell from Warm Springs Intermediate School (Morgan County Schools), who received a fun prize package from 92.9 Cool WXDC along with a $250 classroom gift card from the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce!

One of my favorite parts was hearing Brittany talk about how much those funds will help with classroom supplies. Teachers spend so much of their own time, energy, creativity, and money creating great experiences for their students, and we're grateful we could help make that just a little bit easier.

A huge thank you to Danielle and everyone at 92.9 Cool WXDC for coming up with this giveaway and asking us to partnering with them. It's safe to say that when Danielle and I get together, there's usually a little mischief involved... but this time, that mischief helped brighten a teacher's day. 💛

And finally, thank you to every single teacher who was nominated and to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination. While there could only be one winner, every nomination reminded us that great teachers change lives every single day.

💛 When you realize you have 9 out of 10 of your Board members in the same room... you round everybody up for a family photo! 😄 This incredible group of volunteers helps guide the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce, and while they come from different businesses, different backgrounds, and different experiences, they all have one thing in common... they care deeply about Morgan County and the future of our community. All of them bring different ideas, different perspectives, and different strengths to the table, and that's exactly what makes this group work so well.

Thank you, Terri, Isaac, Lyn, Erin, Judy, Sabrena, Ann, Tracy, and Breck, for giving your time, your talents, and your hearts to the Chamber. I may be the one you see running around representing the Chamber most often, but the Chamber wouldn't be what it is without this incredible Board standing right beside me. And to Alexis, we missed you in the photo, but we'll give you a pass since you were busy helping move our brand-new Apple Butter Festival Trail 5K closer to the finish line! 🍎🏃‍♀️ (See what I did there? 😉)

🤝🎉 What. A. Night. 🎉🤝

If you joined us tonight for the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce Mixer at CNB Bank, Inc., thank you!

The room was absolutely buzzing all evening long. Everywhere you looked, people were catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, swapping business cards, sharing ideas, and reminding all of us why Chamber events are so much fun. One of my favorite moments was simply looking around the room and seeing so many people connecting, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.

It was especially exciting to welcome so many new faces tonight! Whether this was your very first Chamber event or you've been coming for years, thank you for spending your evening with us. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

A huge thank you to CNB Bank, Inc. for being such incredible hosts. The spread from Food by Fire was absolutely fantastic, the refreshments were wonderful, the door prizes were generous, and everyone made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked through the door. CNB has long been an incredible supporter of the Chamber and our community, and tonight was just another reminder of why we're so grateful for their partnership.

One thing that really stood out to me tonight was realizing that nine out of our ten Board members were there. These are volunteers with full-time jobs, businesses to run, families to spend time with, and about a hundred other things they could have been doing on a Thursday evening. Instead, they were there welcoming members, answering questions, and introducing people who somehow hadn't met yet. That's what Chamber leadership looks like, and I'm incredibly grateful for each and every one of them.

Thank you to every single person who came out tonight and made it such a success. The Chamber is at its best when our members come together, and tonight was a perfect example of that.

And if you missed it... well... we missed you! 😉 We hope you'll join us next time. Every new face, every new conversation, and every new connection makes our Chamber, our businesses, and our community just a little bit stronger.

🏆🎉 Member Spotlight: RWR WV Independent Insurance Agency 🎉🏆

One of my favorite things about this job is getting to celebrate moments like this. Every once in a while, a Morgan County business earns recognition that reaches far beyond our county line... and it's always something to be proud of.

A huge congratulations to RWR WV Independent Insurance Agency, who was recently named Insurance Business Review's Top Business Insurance Agency of 2026! That's a national honor, and one that landed them on the cover of the magazine, along with a feature sharing their story and the mission that's guided them from the very beginning.

That's a pretty big deal for a business with small-town roots.

One of the things we've always appreciated about RWR is that they've never lost sight of what matters most: taking care of people. As an independent insurance agency, they work for their clients, not the insurance company, helping families and businesses find the coverage that's right for them. It's a simple philosophy, but one that's earned them the trust of clients across West Virginia... and now recognition across the country as well.

Around here, we also know RWR as a business that believes in giving back. Whether they're supporting local organizations, serving on the board of the Chamber, sponsoring community events, or making sure one of the Apple Butter Festival's favorite traditions, the Egg Toss, continues year after year, they consistently invest in the community they call home. We notice those things, and they matter.

Picture this...It's Thursday. The work week is almost over. You've wrapped up your last meeting, answered one more email than you wanted to, and now you're trying to decide what to do with the evening.

How about spending it with friends?

Join us this Thursday from 5-7 PM as our friends at CNB Bank, Inc., welcome the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce for one of our favorite events of the month... a Mixer at CNB Bank!

If you've never been to one before: it's a Mixer. That means no formal agenda, no presentations, and no standing up to introduce yourself to the whole room. (I know... I know... I make you do that at the Monthly Meetings. I hate it too, but it's good for you! 😂)

Instead, you'll find delicious light fare from Food by Fire, refreshments, wonderful people, and the chance to have the kinds of conversations that somehow never happen when everyone's rushing from one thing to the next. Catch up with old friends, meet a few new faces, and make connections that are good for your business... and sometimes just good for your soul.

Our hosts at CNB Bank are also giving away three fantastic door prizes, each featuring CNB swag and a $25 gift card to a local business. (Who doesn't love a door prize?)

While we're busy here at the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce planning Monthly Meetings, hosting events like our Farm Bureau Dinner, promoting our incredible members, and working to make Morgan County an even better place to live, work, and visit... there's one event that starts taking over our calendars... and then our desks... and then our dreams. (Trust me, the Apple Butter dreams are REAL. 😉)

🍎 Seven weeks from RIGHT NOW... Berkeley Springs will have that feeling. If you know, you know.

The streets start filling with vendors. (We've already sold 268 vendor spaces, so there are going to be a LOT of them!!!) Friends who only seem to see each other once a year start running into one another on the sidewalks. Volunteers are everywhere. The excitement starts building. And then... the best smell in the world begins drifting through downtown as the apple butter starts bubbling.

You guessed it... the 51st Annual Apple Butter Festival!

I've been attending Apple Butter Festival since I was about three and a half months old, so this festival has been part of my life for literally as long as I can remember. We would NEVER mess with the traditions that have made it one of West Virginia's favorite festivals, but... we do love adding a few new surprises along the way. 😏

The biggest one this year? Our brand new Butter Festival Trail 5K! Whether you're a seasoned runner, looking for a fun challenge, or just want an excuse to earn one of the cutest finisher medals we've ever seen... (no judgment if that's your entire motivation 😉)... we'd love to have you join us on Sunday morning at beautiful Cacapon Resort State Park.

And that's just the beginning.

On the Apple Butter Festival, WV page, we've been unveiling this year's entertainment lineup, introducing the incredible sponsors who help make the festival possible, announcing contests, highlighting returning favorites alongside exciting new additions, and sharing all the behind-the-scenes excitement as we count down to October.

🌽🚜💛 Some evenings just remind you why you love living in Morgan County. Last night's Farm Bureau Picnic with the Berkeley Springs-Morgan Co Chamber of Commerce was one of those evenings.

To everyone who joined us, thank you! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and just as exciting to finally meet several of our newer Chamber members in person. One of my favorite things about this event is watching old friends catch up while I'm introducing people who somehow hadn't met yet. That's one of the best parts of what we get to do.

And then there was the food. Ohhhhhh, the food! When you're enjoying sweet corn, fresh tomatoes, and watermelon grown just steps from where you're sitting, "farm-to-table" takes on a whole new meaning. Everything was absolutely delicious. And can we talk about yellow watermelon for a second? I had never tried it before, and I have to admit... it's really, really good. If you ever get the chance, give it a try! 🍉

Thank you to the Morgan County Farm Bureau for partnering with us on one of our favorite Chamber traditions and for sharing more about the important work they're doing to support local agriculture. We're also incredibly grateful to Laura & Mark Glascock (Glascock's Produce Roadside Stand) for once again opening their beautiful farm to all of us. You couldn't ask for a prettier setting for a summer evening.

We also want to thank the Morgan County Middle School and Berkeley Springs High School FFA members, who helped direct traffic, set up, serve dinner, deliver dessert, clean up afterward, and generally seemed to be wherever they were needed throughout the evening. We also enjoyed hearing from the FFA President and Executive Team, who shared all of the many ways they're involved in our schools and community. I'll be honest... I was tired just listening to everything they have going on! 😄 It's wonderful to see such a hardworking group of young people making a difference, and the future of Morgan County is certainly in good hands.

Good food has a way of bringing people together. Add a beautiful farm, great conversation, and a community that enjoys spending time together, and you've got one of our favorite nights of the year.

🍎📻 Uh oh... Danielle and Happy are up to something again. 😉🎉 If you've listened to Happy Fridays on 92.9 WXDC, you already know we're always dreaming up new ways to celebrate the amazing people who make Morgan County such a wonderful place to live.

A couple of weeks ago, we welcomed our newest Morgan County Schools teachers with bags overflowing with goodies, gifts, and information from the Chamber and our amazing members. (And fantastic ambassadors, including Danielle because she's awesome!)
