Parade ready and proud to represent our community this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸 Today we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and remember the heroes who gave all. Thank you to all who join us in remembrance.

05/25/2026

Due to the forecasted weather, the start of the Memorial Day Parade has been moved to 10:00 AM. While this was a difficult decision, the parade must go on!

We invite the entire community to continue this wonderful tradition with us and join us following the parade at Veterans Memorial Park for free hot dogs, drinks, and ice pops. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication secured the freedoms we enjoy each day.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, BHVRS remembers those who never made it home and extends our gratitude to the families who carry their legacy forward. 🇺🇸

When people think of BHVRS, they often picture the ambulance responding with lights and sirens. But our mission extends far beyond the emergency call.
Every day, our volunteers work behind the scenes and in the community to make a difference. From community outreach and public education to CPR training, school and senior engagement, fundraising, equipment maintenance, and ongoing medical training, there is so much that goes into keeping our squad ready to serve.
We partner with local police, fire departments, schools, and community organizations, provide standby coverage at events, support charitable initiatives, and mentor the next generation of EMS providers and volunteers.
The reality is that emergency response is only one part of what we do. BHVRS is built on service, preparedness, teamwork, and community connection — because caring for our neighbors starts long before the 911 call comes in.

May 17-23 is EMS Week- and we are starting with a trip down memory lane 🚑📷

BHVRS has proudly been serving our community since 1942, and these photos tell part of that story.

Do you recognize any of these volunteers? The best part — three people in these photos are still active volunteers with us today!

During National Police Week, we want to recognize the incredible partnership we share with the Berkeley Heights Police Department.

Many people don’t realize that police officers are often among the first on scene for medical emergencies — providing lifesaving care, CPR, Narcan administration, bleeding control, and comfort to patients and families before the ambulance arrives. Their calm under pressure and commitment to this community make a difference every single day.

At BHVRS, we are grateful to work side-by-side with officers who are always ready to step in, help, and support both our crews and our residents. We truly could not do this job without them.

Thank you for your service, your partnership, and your dedication to keeping our community safe. 💙🚓🚑

We were honored to be invited to such an extra special prom tonight— and it’s easily one of our favorite events to be part of each year. BHVRS volunteers Marc, Donna, Madison, Anousha, and Monica loved being present for all the smiles, dancing, outfits, and excitement of attendees.

The 50s theme brought serious Grease energy- we loved the decor, poodle skirts, and slick backed hair🎶🚑

We even got to meet Rye from — who was a huge hit with both our crew and the other attendees.

Thank you Berkeley Heights YMCA for letting BHVRS celebrate alongside everyone. You all looked incredible, and we’re so grateful to be included in moments like these that bring so much joy to our community.
