NEVER FORGET:

25 years ago, it was a bright and sunny day in Berea, Ohio and in much of the eastern United States. That day the United States of America would face a horror that many never envisioned. Nearly 3000 people died that day, and many more have succumbed to injuries suffered as a result of those attacks. For those lost, let us stand in unity and never forget.

** Traffic Alert**
There will be a 5K run tomorrow starting and ending at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. It begins at 11AM and will last approximately 1 hour. There will be some temporary traffic disruptions during that time.

Scam Alert!
We were made aware of several residents who received emailed invoices with City of Berea letterhead advising them to wire money to an account. The residents did have current business dealings with the city, indicating this scam was researched.

**The City of Berea will never request a payment through wire transfer.

ENJOY RETIREMENT:

Congratulations to Ptl. Gute on his retirement from the Berea Police Department after 34 years of service. Pt. Gute has filled countless roles within the department during his service. Some of those roles include Detective, bicycle officer, community engagement officer, range officer, defensive tactics instructor, and he most recently spent the past 8 years as the School Resource Officer at Berea High School and the new Berea Midpark High School. We recently shared the Berea City School District post thanking Ptl. Gute, but we wanted to post one of our own! You will be missed and we look forward to seeing you in the future!

School Busses Are Back!
Schools are starting back up for the year and it's important to know when you need to stop for a school bus and when you don't.
On a two or three lane roads, drivers on both sides of the roadway must stop when a bus is dropping off or picking up students. On roads with four or more lanes, drivers driving in the opposite direction of the bus do not have to stop.
