On September 11, 2001, our nation was changed forever.

We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless others who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Today, we honor their sacrifice, remember their stories, and pay tribute to the heroes who gave everything.

This Friday, we will have the honor of attending a 9/11 ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger, and recognize the families, survivors, and countless others whose lives were forever changed that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

It was an exciting day for the City of Berea Safety Forces as the Fire Department swore in our newest member, Joey Smith. Smith comes with previous experience and has been currently working on his 40 hour work weeks before he officially comes to B shift.

We were also able to hold the official swearing in ceremony for Lieutenant Ryba and Captain Kubec. Both have been with the department for many years and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Congratulations!

Lastly, the Berea Police Department swore in two new patrolmen to their ranks. Congrats and welcome to the team!

Happy 4th of July! We hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating the 250th birthday of our great nation.

As a reminder, the City of Berea opted out of Ohio H.B. 172, so it is still illegal to discharge, ignite, or explode fireworks in Berea, except for licensed manufacturers, wholesalers, exhibitors, or other authorized entities.

The city will be putting on an excellent fireworks show tonight at 10pm over Coe Lake. Leave the fireworks to the professionals!
