This month we're joined by Dale Phillips, Co-President of the Bella Vista Historical Society and President of Bella Vista Civil War Round Table, as he discusses the history of the land and people of Bella Vista. Join your fellow artists and crafters for a craft supply swap! Purge your craft supply stash, reduce waste and clutter, and go home with some new-to-you items!

Are you feeling creatively cluttered? Is your craft stash overflowing with unused supplies?

Bring your unused/gently used yarn, fabric, drawing, scrapbooking, jewelry-making, floral arranging, and other supplies to the BPL Craft Supply Swap!

How does it work?

1. Register for the event on our website calendar.

2. Find 1-2 clean box(es) or paper shopping bag(s) no bigger than 10" tall, 15" wide, 20" long. BPL will have a limited supply of boxes and bags available for registered participants.

3. Load the box(es)/bag(s) with clean and usable arts and craft supplies you no longer need (list of acceptable items will be emailed to participants 1 week before event).

4. Drop off your supplies at the library Monday, June 8 through Thursday, June 11 from 9am to 7pm or on Friday, June 12 from 9am to 12pm. We will categorize the items for easier shopping and swapping. You will receive a ticket for each box/bag of supplies you bring for the event--we will not count or keep track of exactly how many items you bring, but we expect all participants to follow an honor code and not take more than 2 boxes of supplies home with them.

5. Bring your ticket to the Craft Supply Swap on Saturday, June 13 between 1:00 and 3:00pm, where you can refill your boxes/bags with new-to-you supplies.

6. Meet and network with other crafty people and give ideas and feedback for library art and craft-related programming.

7. Enjoy your creative treasures!

Please note: All unclaimed supplies left over from the event will be used for library programming, added to the Community Craft Closet in the Makerspace, or taken to a local donation center.

Thank you for celebrating creativity and sustainability with us--we can't wait to see what you create!

That's right, Summer Reading Club is about to bring it!

Starting June 1, readers of all ages are invited to track all their reading--books, magazines, newspapers, cereal boxes... yes, we said cereal boxes. At the end of the summer we'll be giving out some fantastic prizes. (Unfortunately, no personal pan pizzas, but we're all hoping... someday... 🍕.)

Tracking your reading starts next week, but for now:
