It is with deep sorrow that the Benton County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit announces the passing of K9 Titan after having a medical emergency on Tuesday, June 2nd.

K9 Titan was a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois born on May 2nd, 2020, in Colombia, South America, before being united with his handler, Corporal Joshua Martin. During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, K9 Titan was assigned to the Special Operations Unit and recorded over 150 pounds of narcotics seized, approximately $80,000 in seized currency, assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team with numerous operations, and located several wanted violent persons as well as a missing juvenile.

Titan was a pivotal member of our K9 Unit, and he will be deeply missed by our unit, the agency, and most importantly, his family.

Elder fraud can happen to anyone, and scammers are becoming more convincing every day. Be cautious of phone calls, emails, text messages, or online requests asking for money, personal information, or gift cards.

Take a moment to talk with the seniors in your life about common scams and remind them to never feel pressured into making quick decisions. If something feels suspicious, it’s always okay to hang up, delete the message, and verify the information with a trusted family member or law enforcement.

Together, we can help protect our elderly community from fraud and financial exploitation.

Our law enforcement family is mourning the loss of a truly remarkable man.

After many years of dedicated service, Chris Kelley, a longtime Deputy Sheriff with the Benton County Sheriff's Office, (Reserve Lieutenant), and Captain with the Centerton Police Department, has passed away.

He was more than a badge and a uniform. He was a respected leader, a trusted mentor, a loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a servant to his community. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He led with integrity, treated people with respect, and earned the admiration of colleagues, friends, and community members alike. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched throughout his career and beyond.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who served alongside him during this difficult time.

Thank you for your service, your friendship, and the example you set for so many. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Rest easy, brother. We have the watch from here.

What the Attorney General say’s you should know.

What Arkansans Should Know

o Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration: (501) 682-5000
Check with your county office about any actual tax liens
Request IRS transcripts to confirm your tax status
Report suspicious letters to:
o Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
o Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA)
o Office of the Attorney General
