City of Benton, IL Benton is a city in southern Illinois. It is the county seat of Franklin County. Akin. The current Mayor of Benton is Fred Kondritz. Malkovich.

Benton, the county seat of Franklin County, took its name from the prominent senator from Missouri, Thomas Hart Benton. The village of Benton was organized in 1841 on 20 acres of property donated by John Ewing and Walter S. In 1902 the village became a city, and incorporated under the mayor/commissioner form of government. The current City Council is as follows:

Flag Day is coming up June 14th and we need some help! Commissioner Garavalia has purchased banners for our light poles around the square and I want to get them up before Flag Day.

This Saturday 8am I'm going to hang the banners and would love to have some volunteers join me. If you have a tall A-frame ladder, bring it.

Meet in front of the County Annex Building (Campbell Building). With enough hands, it shouldn't take long.

Just a reminder

Just another reminder that starting at midnight (tonight) June 1st, H96 will be totally closed for an estimated 76 days for the new runway lighting project and new fuel pump installation.

We have hopes that it will become usable in some fashion before then but that will be decided by the contractors.

We apologize for any and all inconveniences this will inevitably cause. But at the end, we will have all new LED runway and edge lighting, a lighted windsock and a new fuel pump dispenser!

Airport closure notams are viewable now. Please share and plan accordingly!
