**Community Information Advisory**

The Sheriff's Office would like to remind our community to use caution when obtaining information from unofficial social media pages regarding incidents occurring in our schools and community.

In particular, "Murray Scanner" is an AI-generated social media page and is NOT an official law enforcement source. Information posted on this page is frequently inaccurate, incomplete, or lacking important context.

Unfortunately, inaccurate reports can create unnecessary fear and alarm within our community. For example, yesterday a post described an incident involving an "attack on a School bus" after the situation was investigated it was determined that the incident involved two boys horseplaying on the bus and was not an attack. The original post caused considerable concern amoung parents and community members before any facts were known.

There have also been recent posts regarding an alleged stabbing that did not occur.

We understand that people want timely information about what is happening in their community. However, unverified social media reports should not be relied upon as fact.

The Sheriff's Office will provide accurate and verified information to the public when appropriate and when doing so does not interfere with an ongoing investigation, or place our responding Deputies at risk.

On September 5, 2026, at approximately 2017 hours, Deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of US Highway 68 East and Beale Road after observing multiple traffic violations.

During the course of the investigation, the operator of the vehicle, soon identified as Donald Carson, was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, suspected co***ne, suspected hydrocodone and oxycodone, suspected ma*****na, suspected psilocybin mushrooms, a quantity of U.S. currency, and drug paraphernalia believed to be indicative of illegal narcotics trafficking.

Carson was lodged into the Marshall County Detention Center.

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘/𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 (𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – Districtwide striping is underway!

Crews will be on I-24 in McCracken, Marshall, Livingston, Lyon, Caldwell & Trigg counties for the next 3 or 4 days, daytime only as weather allows. (Including this weekend!)

No lane closures or flaggers – just slow-moving caravans.
Law enforcement will assist with traffic control as needed.
Use caution and avoid driving over freshly painted lines. Typically, it dries in about 4 minutes, depending on humidity and wind conditions.

On August 23, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the 16000 block of US Highway 68 East after observing multiple traffic violations.

During the course of their investigation, Deputies identified the operator as being Robert K. Clements, and found him to be in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a quantity of suspected THC ma*****na wax, and a handgun.

A criminal history check confirmed that Clements had multiple prior felony convictions and was prohibited from possessing a firearm. Clements was lodged into the Marshall County Detention Center.

🚨 BE ON THE LOOKOUT 🚨

A trailer was stolen from TPD Trailer Sales in Dexter Tuesday night.

The trailer is a 2027 MAXXD Trailers 34’ 30K YDX, gray metallic in color. This is not a standard-option trailer and should be fairly easy to distinguish.

Trailer details:

* 🔹 Gray metallic color
* 🔹 Aluminum wheels
* 🔹 Oak floor
* 🔹 Cleated tail
* 🔹 15K axles
* 🔹 Sliding ratchets
* 🔹 Dunnage box on passenger side
* 🔹 Damage on the passenger side near the axles from striking a gate during the theft

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a black 2017–2022 Ford F-250 or F-350.

Teamwork Makes a Difference

Last night, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office responded to a report involving a 14-year-old juvenile who had run away and was believed to be in a stolen vehicle.

Through the teamwork and dedication of multiple agencies and our specialized resources, the juvenile was located safely.

K-9 Walter played an important role in the search by helping our deputies narrow down the area where the juvenile was believed to be. Our drone pilot then utilized the drone to search the area and successfully located the juvenile.

We want to recognize the outstanding work of everyone involved, especially K-9 Walter and our drone operator, whose efforts were instrumental in bringing the search to a safe conclusion.

We also want to sincerely thank Benton Police Department, Marshall County Emergency Management, and Marshall County Central Dispatch for assisting our deputies throughout the search.
