New faces of KYARNG – Pfc. Tationna Jackson, from Lexington Ky., just finished up her Basic Training and AIT. She will be joining the 138th Field Artillery Brigade as an unit supply specialist (92Y).

Jackson went to basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and says that even though it was tough, she really got a lot out of it-from the training to the friendships she made.

“Basic training was the worst best time of my life., I would 100% do it again,” she said. “I liked the team bonding and camaraderie. You'll never get those friendships that you got at basic training anywhere else."

Jackson said she plans to be an officer after she finishes up with college. She is currently a junior at Eastern Kentucky University.

“I chose National Guard because it can enhance my education as well, she added. “I can come back and join the EKU ROTC program and become a second lieutenant and put forth my leadership skills.”
