BENTON CITY DAZE LIVE MUSIC UPDATE
We know there has been disappointment about tonight’s live music being moved indoors, especially from parents and families who were looking forward to enjoying the show together. We understand that disappointment and want to explain why this decision had to be made.
With the weather conditions predicted for the remainder of the evening, keeping the band and their equipment outdoors was simply not a responsible option. The production equipment being used for tonight’s show represents thousands of dollars of professional equipment, and there is no adequate way to properly cover and protect the stage and equipment from the expected weather.
We have also heard the suggestion of moving the show inside the Benton City Community Center. While that would provide an indoor location, the necessary arrangements and permitting for food and beverage service at that location must be completed in advance. Those arrangements were not made because when Benton City Daze was planned and permitted months ago, tonight’s weather conditions were not anticipated. Simply put, Mother Nature wasn’t as cooperative as we would have liked.
Rather than cancel the live music altogether, The Palm Bar & Grill™ will be bringing the show indoors so the music can continue tonight. The members of Backroads, their equipment crew, and their families traveled from Walla Walla to give our community this performance, and we want to make sure they still have the opportunity to do exactly that.
We recognize that moving the show indoors particularly affects families with children, and we sincerely apologize for that disappointment. Minors are welcome at The Palm Bar & Grill™ until 8 PM. After 8 PM, our establishment becomes 21+.
Given the circumstances, bringing the performance inside allows us to protect the band and their equipment while still giving Benton City the live music that was planned for tonight.
We hope our community will come out tonight and support Backroads and show them the Benton City hospitality and community spirit that makes Benton City Daze so special. They made the trip to be here for us, and we would love to fill the house and give them a great Benton City crowd to perform for.
The location may have changed, but the show will go on.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for celebrating Benton City Daze with our community.
We hope to see you tonight at The Palm Bar & Grill™!
