I would like to express my gratitude to my neighbors, city staff, citizens of Benton City and those council members who have encouraged me to run for Mayor of Benton City. I have lived in the Benton/Franklin Counties area since 1955 and have lived in Benton City since 2012. OBJECTIVE GOALS IF I BECOME MAYOR:
- I would like to see the I-82 South Subarea project move forward, with guidance that woul
d insure the project's success.
- Provide leadership to improve city staff morale and to minimize employee turnover.
- Work to insure a city budget is in place by the beginning of each year.
-Insure future development protects property values and preserves community aesthetics.
- Establish new recreational use areas.
- It has been suggested a need exists for more than one bridge into Benton City. Seeking the state and counties help for a 2nd bridge needs to be undertaken. A second bridge would improve community safety and provide for timely emergency responses. If the current bridge was out of service for any length of time, the outage would create major challenges for the community within Benton City.
- Many hours of service have been given for the improvement of the boat launch area and surrounding park. I would like to see this area developed into useable park space, as the number of visitors continues to increase. EDUCATION:
- Columbia Basin College: 1969-1971
- Washington State University: 1971-1973

- Cut down and cup up 85% plus of the trees, clearing the boat launch area, as well as helped organize and clean up the debris.
- Spent time on the 14th Street walking trail area, removing dead trees & garbage.
- Big supporter of the food bank. In August 2023 I procured over 12,000 pounds of food for our local bank, and arranged an additional 18,000 pounds for the NW Harvest, who helps supply other food banks in our area.
- Built and stained the picnic table under the mulberry tree at the boat launch park. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- 25+ years of business and leadership experience, managing large projects and activities.

If elected, the Mayors monthly salary will be returned to Benton City coffers for the community improvements.
