• Promotion of registration, membership or recruitment drives by not-for-profit groups, associations or organizations, except for schools and local youth sports organizations and entities owned by the City of Benson considered “competition” for other locally owned businesses
• Promotion of any special community event where net proceeds are for personal profit, except where such event is undertaken to pay an individual’s funeral or medical bills
• Birthday, anniversary or obituary/memorial messages for individuals or organizations
• Messages that state or imply endorsement by the City of Benson for any non-city events
• Direct facial shots of minor children
• Criticism of elected officials, coworkers, disagreements on policies and procedures, proprietary, confidential or sensitive information about the City, coworkers, patrons, partner agencies/affiliates, members of the public or third party vendors
• Posts or comments considered inappropriate or non-reflective of the mission of the City of Benson

The City of Benson is currently accepting applications to fill four vacancies on the Board of Adjustment. A minimum of three members must reside within the city limits of Benson; one seat may be filled by a candidate who resides outside of city limits.

The Board meets on an as‑needed basis.

What the Board does:
The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals of zoning decisions, considers requests for variances when strict application of the zoning ordinance would create a hardship due to special circumstances, and conducts its business in public meetings with recorded votes and actions. These responsibilities are established in Arizona Revised Statutes § 9‑462.06. 23

We welcome applications from community members who:
• Reside within the Benson city limits (at least three seats must be city residents; one seat may be outside city limits as noted above).
• Are interested in land use, zoning, property rights, or civic engagement.
• Can commit to attending meetings when scheduled and to reviewing materials in advance. (The Board meets as cases arise.)

The City of Benson is currently accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

What the Commission does: The Planning and Zoning Commission plays a key role in reviewing land use proposals, zoning changes, and development plans. Members help guide decisions that impact housing, business growth, and the overall character of our city.

We welcome applications from community members who:
• Reside within the city limits of Benson
• Are interested in urban planning, development, or civic engagement
• Can commit to attending regular meetings and reviewing materials in advance
