In the past, the Friends of the Library worked hard to raise funds for the renovations to the library. We continue to:
* Purchase books for children completing the Summer Reading challenge
* Provide financial support for the Summer Reading finale.
* Purchase items for the STEAM programs.
* Purchase passes to Fontenelle Forest, Children’s Museum and Lauritzen Gardens for check out.
* Present speakers for the community.
* Provide volunteers for extra activities at the library. The library is increasing the number of programs available for children, teens and adults. We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with our events. GET INVOLVED
Members of the Friends are involved in a variety of efforts that benefit the Bennington Public Library. Everyone is welcome to attend quarterly meetings, held in the Community Room. Friends events include:
* Bennington Daze Book Sale
* Bennington Daze Library Parade float
* Summer Reading Program sponsorship
* Assist with special activities at the Library
* Organize community interest programs
* Restaurant fundraisers (places and dates to be announced on FB and Web site)
