6/8/26 City Council Meeting Highlights:

-Renewed our 5 year interlocal Keno agreement with Omaha.

-Gave authorization to bid for Neumeyer Farm Phase 2. Which should go out in July. Phase 2 includes four more fields, paths, parking, trees, and other smaller items.

-Storm sewer repairs in Bennington Park West were completed. Sewer lining

-Thanked Public Works and BPD for their assistance with Bennington Daze.

-Summer Reading Program at the library has kicked off. Over 1,000 kids signed up!

-55 traffic citations handed out. 3 warrant arrests.

-Sewer lining around town should be starting this summer and done around August.

Congratulations to our first Yard of the Month winner!

Congratulations to Brodie and Olivia Wakefield of 15664 N. 2nd Street, the inaugural recipients of the City of Bennington May - Yard of the Month Award!

Mayor Clint Adams joined Brodie Wakefield in celebrating this recognition, which included a $50 gift card. Their beautifully maintained property reflects the pride, care, and dedication they bring to their home and our community.

Since we’re on the hot topic of e-bikes, and as we roll into warmer weather…here is a refresher of Bennington’s golf cart ordinance.

TL;DR
-Needs to be driven by a licensed individual (no minors).
-Needs to be insured.
-Not on sidewalks.
-This Bennington City limits.
-Not allowed on the highway.

2/9/26 City Council Meeting Highlights:

-January Keno receipts totaled $9,223.98.

-Approved the final plat for Prairie Ridge located on the empty 7 acre lot behind Runza. Glad to see this progressing.

-Approved a conditional use permit for the Bennington Community Theatre at the contractor bays location.

-Approved cost sharing with the Bennington Soccer Club of temporary fencing which will be used during the soccer season and can also be used for downtown events like Bennington Daze.

-Papio Creek Trail Grant is progressing and should see the start of construction sometime this summer.

-Crosswalk installation by the library should be complete this week, if not already done today.

-42 traffic citations were handed out last month.
