The Marlboro County School District Food Service Department
is proud to continue serving families throughout the summer through its Summer Break Café
grocery distribution program.
The Summer Break Café is designed to help ensure that children in Marlboro County have
access to nutritious meals while school is not in session. Through a partnership with Carlie C's,
the district is providing grocery packages to eligible families who pre-register for the program.
The Summer Break Café program will operate through July 22, 2026, and pre-registration is
required for all participants. Families must register in advance in order to receive groceries
during scheduled distribution dates.
Parents and guardians should note the following eligibility guidelines:
• Children who are participating in and eating meals through a summer school or
summer academic program are not eligible to receive the 7-day grocery package.
• Students who receive meals through a summer school program will instead qualify for
a 3-day grocery package.
• Students who are not participating in a summer feeding program may qualify for the 7-
day grocery package, provided they have completed the required registration.
"We are grateful for our partnership with Carlie C's and for the opportunity to support families
throughout the summer months," said Anna Chappell, Director of Food Services.
"The Summer Break Café helps ensure that our students continue to have access to nutritious
food when school is not in session."
The district encourages families to register as early as possible and to carefully follow all
registration and distribution guidelines to ensure a smooth pick-up process.
