The Olympics may be over, but fish fry season is just beginning! Slide on down to 901 Springfield Road in East G’pie today at 4pm for fish, shrimp, fries, slaw, and hush puppies. We have 120 pounds of white fish and 100 pounds of buffalo, so get it while it’s hot! Plenty for the entire team. See you soon!

Tonight our crew attended an ice rescue training with Unit 7 Fire Protection District, Station 1, Gillespie on Gillespie Lake. Thank you to Gillespie-Benld Area Ambulance Service for standing by to ensure the safety of all participants.

As a reminder - this was a guided, intentional training to help us best prepare to serve our communities. Do not try this at home(Or at any other pond, lake, or body of water). Like Scuba Steve says, "Your boots may be made for walkin', but not on thin ice."

Be safe, stay warm, and save the Ice Breakers for first dates.

Today, a group of our team members had the opportunity to train alongside the Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department at their brand-new burn tower.

During the training, we focused on fire behavior, search and rescue best practices, and continued building the skills and experience that will serve us well on future fire scenes.

A big thank-you to LLVFD for the warm welcome and well-organized training. We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to working with you again in the future!

A Burn ban is now in effect for the residents in Unit 7 Fire Protection District response area; including but not linited to, Gillespie, Benld, Dorchester, East Gillespie, Wilsonville, Mt Clare, Sawyerville, Eagerville, Henderson & Hornsby

Due to a shortage of rain fall and hot temperatures returning, little to no rainfall forecasted in the near future and everything quickly drying out, we have put the burn ban in place! Please share.
