This week, during National Police Appreciation Week, the Knox County Sheriff's Office would like to recognize the men and women who proudly serve and protect Knox County every single day.

Thank you to Sheriff Mendoza for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to this county and the people in it.

Thank you to Chief Deputy Thrash for always answering the call, leading from the front, and standing beside your deputies and community day in and day out.

Thank you to Deputy Garza, Deputy Bush, and Deputy Baran for your hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to keeping Knox County safe.

A special thank you as well to Trooper Guthrie, Game Warden Hampel, Chief Candelaria, and Officer Blackburn for your partnership, teamwork, and commitment to serving our communities. Small towns work because law enforcement agencies stand together and Knox County is fortunate to have great officers across every department.

And of course… thank you to K-9 Max the four-legged deputy who never misses a shift, always tracks down the bad guys, and still believes he’s the real Sheriff around here. 🐾🚔

Law enforcement is more than a badge and uniform it’s missed holidays, late nights, early mornings, and putting this community before yourselves. Thank you all for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting Knox County.

If you see one of our officers this week, take a moment to tell them THANK YOU. Your support means more than you know. 🇺🇸

Sheriff Mendoza and Chief Deputy Thrash had the opportunity to attend the North Central Texas Sheriff’s Coalition meeting this week, joining fellow law enforcement leaders from across the region to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen partnerships.

A highlight of the event was hearing from Greg Abbott, who spoke on the continued commitment to public safety and supporting law enforcement agencies across Texas.

Meetings like this are a great reminder that protecting our communities takes teamwork, communication, and strong leadership at every level. Knox County is proud to be represented and to stand alongside agencies working toward the same mission keeping our communities safe.

Please join us in congratulating two of our Knox County Jailers for successfully passing their Texas Jailer License. 👏

This accomplishment reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving the citizens of Knox County. Becoming a licensed jailer requires training, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility, and we are proud to have them as part of our team.

Thank you both for your continued service and for the important role you play in keeping our community safe.

Congratulations! 🇺🇸🚔

Reports say he’ll be traveling in a red sleigh, pulled by reindeer, and carrying an unknown amount of toys 🎄🦌

Don’t panic—he’s been cleared, escorted, and is fully approved by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office 😉
So if you hear bells, see lights in the sky, or notice a guy in red sneaking around… that’s not suspicious—that’s Christmas!

🖍️ Coloring sheets
🎄 And more holiday fun than you can shake a candy cane at!

🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office! 🦃

This Thanksgiving, we kindly remind everyone of a few important safety rules:

1️⃣ Do NOT call 911 to report your turkey being “missing.”
– It’s probably just in the oven… or in the hands of one of your relatives.

2️⃣ If your family asks you political questions at the dinner table,
– You’re on your own. We don’t respond to that kind of emergency.

3️⃣ Please remember:
– Speeding to get seconds is still speeding.
– And no, your stretchy pants are not considered “official uniform.”

From our KCSO family to yours, we hope your turkey is juicy, your pie is unlimited, and your family drama is minimal.
Stay safe, stay thankful, and enjoy the holiday! 🦃🤠
